Rio Azul Lodge is situated on the Northern end of the Bazaruto Archipelago at the mouth of the pristine Govuro River which enters the sea at Bartholomew Dias. Guests enjoy a scenic 1 and half hours road transfer from Vilanculos before reaching this private beach haven.

Rio Azul Lodge offers luxury accommodation which includes six twin chalets and two luxury villas which sleep six adults and six children.

Each villa has its own swimming pool and is situated along pristine beach shores.  The villas, which can each accommodate 12 people, feature private lounges, fully equipped kitchens and three en-suite guest rooms. A loft room upstairs can accommodate 6 children.

The chalets each have 2 three-quarter beds as well as a roll-out bed for children.

The main area consists of a lounge, dining room, bar area with a big wooden deck in front and a plunge pool. The view from the 31-foot bar is possibly one of the most spectacular in Africa, overlooking the Govuro River during sunsets.

Although Rio Azul Lodge is primarily a luxury fishing lodge, the lodge also offers good bird watching opportunities, kayaking and snorkelling to name but a few of the lodge's beach holiday activities.
