Features: Restaurant, Bar, Swimming Pool

White Sands in Barra, Mozambique is positioned at the tip of the Barra peninsula which juts out into the Bay of Inhambane on the one side - and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean on the other.
At high tide, guests will be required to cross over a small bridge in order to access White Sand, a small toll fee may be required.
The camp sites are nestled under a forest of coconut palms and have communal ablutions, braai facilities, power points and lighting throughout the camp. Baraccas (grass shelters) are also available for hire for protection from the sun and falling coconuts!
White Sands now has a few Baraccas which have private showers and toilets
White Sands also offers 2 x 6 sleeper and 2 x 8 sleeper self-catering cabins (a few metres from the water’s edge). Both these cabins have 2 bedrooms with large loft rooms upstairs with single beds. The cabins are equipped with basic cooking utensils, gas stove, fridge/freezer and have braai facilities. Bedding and mosquito nets are provided. Each chalet has a bathroom with a shower.
The 'island style' beach bar/restaurant and pool area is a popular meeting place for guests and visitors – a great spot to unwind with a refresher and watch the sun set in a ball of orange fire over the bay.

GUEST REVIEWS FOR WHITE SANDS, BARRA, MOZAMBIQUE
My husband advised that the gent’s toilets was a terrible experience – they can definitely clean the toilets more often.
It would be nice if you could share with all the clients going to White Sands that they should bring along Baby oil for all the Palm flies as Mozambique does not sell baby oil.

It is a very nice location and very friendly people, but the palm flies is a problem. The ablution facilities could be cleaned more regularly, the camping area is in dire need of repair/maintenance, especially the electrical side of it. Overall not a bad place to visit.

Great Holiday thanks
Overall: Good - Would recommend to others and stay there again
Service: Great
Friendliness: Great
Cleanliness: Fair, toilets often had no toilet paper and there was a continuous leak in the bathroom which flooded the toilets daily
Facilities: Good

There were three days that we sit without water in the evenings in the beginning. We complain about that and since then there were water.
I get a feeling that the owners do not care about the camping facility they only care about the restaurant and Bar (Food is great)
The campsite was not even 30% occupied (estimate)
The owner told us that they will build new ablutions during the year hopefully they will keep it in a better condition.
Overall it is a very nice resort with great potential.
If you ask me if I will go back definitely, they only must sort out the water problem and focus on cleaning and maintaining the ablution.
