Hog Hollow Country Lodge in Plettenberg Bay is a spectacular 4 star lodge overlooking the Matjies River Gorge - situated on a private nature reserve, 18 kms East of Plettenberg Bay.
This magnificent lodge is renowned for outstanding food, personalised service and the ultimate in luxury – with an informal ambience.
The main lodge has two guest lounges, the main dining area and the beautiful boma deck overlooking the long blue pool dotted with ultra-comfortable recliners.
Accommodation at Hog Hollow Country Lodge is provided in 16 beautifully styled guest suites and a spacious, equally beautiful, 3-bedroom Villa.
The suites are situated in the gardens surrounding the main house. Each suite is styled in earthy tones complemented by hand crafted artefacts and feature well stocked mini bars, hi-fis with CD's supplied, en-suite bathrooms and private decks overlooking the gardens profuse with a variety of birdlife.
Three of the suites can be used for Families. These suites are double-storey units suitable for a family of 4 (children aged 12 years and younger). The children are accommodated on a double sleeper couch in the lounge downstairs.
The Villa at Hog Hollow is situated approximately 400m from the main lodge with extraordinary views over the valley and Tsitsikamma Mountains. The villa comprises 3 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, spacious lounge with comfy leather furniture and a modern fully equipped kitchen which is open plan to the indoor/outdoor dining areas. Access to the verandah and pool deck is via wooden stacking doors giving it a light and airy feel. The villa features a music system, DSTV, DVD player and fireplace. This is a place for family holidays. The main bedroom is situated on the ground floor - the upstairs area is perfect for the children with 2 bedrooms, a games room with own pool table and television with an array of DVD's to choose from
Generous farmhouse breakfasts are served on the boma deck overlooking the endless forests, or near the huge fireplace on chilly days. The Boma is also the social hub, where dinners begin with tasty treats from the kitchen to whet the appetite, before heading off to the dining area for the main meal at the famously large communal dining table – it's a festive affair!
The Boma is also where the day ends, where guests can unwind on of a pile of comfy cushions, develop new friendships and enjoy the crackling fire with a nightcap in hand.
