Africa on Foot specialises in big five walking and driving safaris in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve; a wildlife rich region in the heart of the Greater Kruger. The Klaserie shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park, which means predators and other wildlife roam freely throughout. On a walking safari guests will be led by highly experienced and professional trails guides through an area abundant with wildlife. Walks offer a unique perspective and insight into the bushveld, and plenty of knowledge is gained while at ground level with marauding predators and giant herbivores. Mornings start with a 3 hour slow paced walk through the savannah (weather permitting), where you will track and try to find big game. In addition to walking safaris, evening game drives take place. This allows guests to participate in a full spectrum of safari activities and tracking of the big five. Guests can expect comfortable lodgings, ideal for those who value their creature comforts. For the more adventurous, the open-air treehouse provides a thrilling experience with its unparalleled views of the wilderness beyond. Africa on Foot camp has 5 chalets (rondavels) ensuring an intimate and personal safari experience. Two of the chalets are family rooms, and all rooms have en-suite bathrooms and outdoor showers. For honeymooners or guests wanting to add a slice of romance to their stay, the team will arrange a honeymoon sundowner set-up at an extra cost. The safari-style main area is where guests spend hours chatting about their sightings, connecting over tasty home cooked fare. Tucked away in the corner, is a modern safari-inspired bar and small lounge leading into a dining area. The iconic boma flows out from the dining area and is the perfect place to unwind after a day on safari. Boma experiences are a quintessential part of the safari experience and provide ample opportunity for guests to chat over a roaring campfire. On balmy summer days guests can relax at their choice of two splash pools - one sits adjacent to the treehouse on the perimeter of camp, and the other pool is inside the camp. Both pools are a major drawcard for elephants, so don’t be surprised if you spot a few giants during peak safari season! Children between the ages of 5 and 16 years will be taken on morning game “bumbles” or drives (depending on their age) while their parents enjoy their morning walking safaris. It is vital for safety that children are obedient on the game drives. Should the guides feel that children are not well behaved, their parents will be asked to accompany them on the game drives. Service Fee A R125.00 non-refundable service fee is required with the deposit payment.
