The Boteti Tented Camp is situated on the banks of the Boteti River, just 20 minutes outside of Maun. Boteti is an ideal stopover en route, or finishing up on your jam-packed safari adventure, as it introduces you to a slice of the authentic, local Maun way of life while allowing you to ramp up your safari experience by adding in a few more safari tours. Staying at Boteti offers you an opportunity to give back, as everything about this camp is about supporting the local community. Boteti Tented Camp is located a few metres from one of the tributaries of the Okavango Delta, the Boteti River. The Boteti River is a life source of water for the arid Kalahari plains and famed Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. Considering the river is the only reliable water source in the area, it’s no surprise that it’s a magnet for crocodiles, hippos and wading birds. Warm hospitality with personalised service is paramount at Boteti Tented Camp and all guests are treated to a 2-hour mokoro trip on the Boteti River on arrival. Boteti Tented Camp sleeps 10 people in 5 safari-style canvas tents built on wooden platforms. Each expansive tent sleeps 2 people maximum and features a wooden chest for storage, work desk and an en suite bathroom surrounded by a wall of rustic wooden poles. Bush comfort at its finest! The main camp is built on a wooden platform under canvas. There’s a guest lounge, dining area and a beautifully constructed bar. Freshly prepared traditional meals are served in the dining area or around a roaring fire in the boma in the evenings. From the main area, wooden walkways flow to an outdoor relaxation spot with a swimming pool and poolside sun loungers. Boteti offers a multitude of exciting safari activities and adventures designed to introduce guests to the local cultures and customs. Days are spent exploring the surrounds and nights are spent under the stars in the boma area, where you’ll find a roaring campfire and plenty of fireside chatter. The cost of your stay includes one activity a day, and others can be added on at an extra cost. If you are only staying for a short time, we highly recommend the day trip into the Moremi Game Reserve or the Okavango Delta safari which includes a short game drive, walk and mokoro. Boteti Tented Camp is the perfect place to end your safari experience, and get to know a more simple, traditional way of life combined with a flexible safari experience.
