Situated in the northern expanses of the Balule Nature Reserve and bordered by the Olifants North Reserve, Maseke Game Reserve is one of those “hidden gem” destinations. Explore untouched landscapes with rocky outcrops, diverse vegetation and the Olifants River. The area is a big five reserve and its relatively unknown allowing for guests to see an abundance of wildlife, including the Big Five. During game drives guests will stop for coffee and snacks in the morning, and evening game drives will involve a sundowner stop with sweeping views over the bushveld landscape. The main area comprises an outdoor boma area next to the swimming pool, and a quintessential dining area with a view of the waterhole. Meals are always a highlight at camp and the menu includes a range of traditional food combined with a flair for the modern. This family-friendly camp sleeps a total of 10 people in 3 stone, thatched chalets, offering an authentic and intimate safari experience close to the Olifants River. Each air-conditioned chalet features a private patio with views of the waterhole, en-suite bathrooms, comfortable beds with mosquito nets and tea/coffee making facilities. Steenbok Chalet Sleeps up to 4 guests on a King size bed and a Sleeper couch. There is an en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet and a verandah overlooking the watering hole. Grysbok Chalet sleeps 2 adults and 2 children Sleeps 2 adults on a Double bed and 2 children in bunk beds. It is a 2-roomed chalet with en-suite shower and bathroom. The chalet has a verandah overlooking the pool and watering hole. Klipspringer Chalet sleeps 4 adults or 2 adults and 4 children on a King size bed, a sleeper couch and 2 stretcher beds. During the summer months, guests can relax at the swimming pool while observing wildlife at the waterhole in front of the camp. The local elephant herds favour the waterhole. Guests often sit on the pool loungers watching the elephants frolicking. Evenings are spent swapping stories around the roaring campfire in the boma area, and dinners are spent indulging in traditional cuisine in the rustic thatched lapa. Enjoy daily game drives in this 8000 hectare reserve, and special excursions such as sundowners, bush breakfasts and star gazing. Chacma is an exquisite and rare camp which is surrounded by the untamed wild.

It’s approximately 50 km from Hoedspruit to Chacma Bush Camp Guests that choose to self-drive will be met at the gate and escorted to park their cars at camp. All game drives are conducted in open 4 x 4 Toyota Land Cruisers or Land Rovers Travel insurance is required to cover cancellations, personal effects, personal accidents, medical and emergency travel expenses.
