This small, owner managed lodge epitomises the hospitality of Africa. The lodge derives its name from the Setswana word for 'hippo' - a common resident of the Chobe River. Accommodation at Kubu Lodge is provided in 11 en-suite chalets on raised decks with ceiling fan, tea/coffee facilities and mosquito nets. The chalets are positioned beneath the spreading canopy of trees on expansive lawns which reach down to the river’s edge. Each meal at Kubu Lodge is carefully and freshly prepared then savoured alfresco with stunning views over the Chobe River with birdlife for company. Enjoy a drink from our Morubisi Bar on the outside deck, or take a swim in the pool – all overlooking the Chobe River or, for a cool spot to relax, enjoy our peaceful Bushbuck Reading Lounge. 3 hour Game drives and Boat cruises are offered into the world renowned Chobe National Park – home to Africa’s single largest population of Elephant. Other activities include afternoon cruise to the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers; a day trip to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, a visit to a working crocodile farm, guided tours of a reptile/snake park or a nature walk on the property of the Lodge. The Botswana tradition of extending a warm welcome to all visitors is proudly continued at Kubu Lodge.
