Sitting comfortably on an old anthill elevated above the landscape, this simple yet sophisticated safari lodge boasts scenic views of the Lowveld and the Drakensberg Mountains in the distance. The main lodge features various guest areas and viewing decks. All the viewing decks look out onto the floodlit watering hole that attracts a wide range of animals throughout the day and night. A swimming pool and sun loungers on the lower deck offer waterhole, bushveld and mountain views. The camp overlooks a winding dry riverbed and waterhole. The waterhole at the camp is the perfect location to observe the birdlife and visiting wildlife. It’s not uncommon to sport towering giraffe, bumbling elephants and abundant plains game crossing the riverbed below while relaxing in the boma or around the poolside. Simple and stylish cuisine is served in the stunning open dining area at the main lodge. After the morning activity, guests can enjoy a healthy breakfast followed by a heartier brunch later in the afternoon. Snacks are served at the sundowner stops in the bush, after which you will head back to camp for a delicious and elegant evening meal under the stars. The camp has a total of 6 safari-style bedrooms, all of which have modern bathrooms. Two of the chalets are luxury chalets with private balconies and four are standard chalets furnished in an authentic safari style. The rooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers. All of the rooms are air-conditioned, but we strongly advise you to sleep with your windows open; the sounds of the African bush are the perfect soundtrack to lull you to sleep. At Nambu there are two game drive activities per day, which take place in the Big 5 Olifants West Nature Reserve, complete with coffee and sundowner stops.
